Silver denarius Severus Alexander, 13 March 222 - March 235 A.D.

SILVER denarius, RSC III 532a, RIC IV 178, Van Meter 57, VF, grainy, 2.882g, 20.0mm, 180o, Rome mint, 222 - 228 A.D.; obverse IMP C M AVR SEV ALEXAND AVG, laureate and draped bust right; reverse SALVS PVBLICA, Salus seated on throne left, feeding snake rising from altar.

Have had an opportunity to work with this coin on a SuperBeacon powered altar; it has comparitively little circulation history, but was in close proximity to many interesting scenes; altogether a very desirable high psychometric reading piece; rare glimpes into Roman "night life" and brothel activity, plus trade area, public arena and more.

The fact that it is a silver coin helped it to capture and hold the visual images and sonics much better than bronze.
