18k Gold Ring with a 22k Gold Granulation Bead

This is an 18k gold wire ring, wired ancient style, with a 22k gold granulation bead. These beads are more pure than gold nuggets found in nature, which is why they are such beautiful yellow, even more beautiful and lustrous than 18k gold. In jewelry, granulation is a type of decoration in which minute grains or tiny balls of gold are applied to a surface in geometric or linear patterns or massed to fill in parts of a decoration. First used as early as the 3rd millennium bc, it was known in western Asia and Egypt. This bead was made in 1986-1987.
