ROYAL 322.5mm Gold Headband Decorated With Repousse Flies.
Flies were a singular manifestation of Beelzebub. If you've ever been in the Near East, Middle East or Far East, you know what a plague swarms of flies can be; these flies are of the Near East Variety; identification of the fly species will reveal the place of origin.
This piece has been featured in many "on loan" exhibits on ancient gold artifacts, and would be a wonderful item to leave in endowment for your favorite museum.
I have had this in my collection since 1974. It was excavated sometime in the late 1960s and originally resided in New York until I discovered it in a back case of a dealer/friend's studio.
It is a powerful reading artifact and has many stories to tell, but it is primarily a "wormhole" connection to the lifetime connected to it, the life of the person in whose tomb it was found.
Burial chambers were never intended for public view. The sacred shamanic magical items such as this gold headband placed within the tomb were used as psychic connectors between the world of spirit and the organic world of flesh and blood.
This piece has been with me many years now, but I cannot display it anywhere, anytime in the foreseeable future, so I have decided to find it a good home, hopefully with its former owner. You will never see another like it on the open market.
