Royal Faience Double-Bead Separators, Amarna 1350 B.C.

royal, amarna, akhenaten, nefertiti, tut, egypt, faience, beads, separator

I helped write a paper on the Accession to the Throne during the 18th Dynasty, and these were my "pay", given to me in thanks for my help and expertise.

Provenance: Pendlebury Excavations 1936/37, from the Amarna Workshop, North Palace Apartments, and are similar to the Petrie types listed in the EES references.

They are all double-holed, meaning that they were intended as a double-row separator, and are thus VERY VERY RARE. This type was commonly used in broad-collars, worn only by royals.

An exceptional find and a terrific addition to a bead collector's repertoire.
